This is a personal project, serving both as a gift and a challenge for myself. I've never been too good at Photoshop, so I decided to try using photos that I've randomly taken over the years to express the ideas and words of ©hung's story. CLOG - beautiful clog of words, or C Log is the end result. This is the English translation that I made, the original Vietnamese version is coming soon.
The story features a person from outer space, having come and living on Earth. The voices are made to seem like a conversation, but upon closer inspection, it is most likely a monologue. The tone of voice is quiet, lonely, the feeling is bitter sweet, hence the use of small, minimal typography and soft colors on white pages.
The method of binding used is Japanese side-stitch binding combined with French fold binding, meant to ensure the alignment of the spreads inside and create a continuation between pages.
The French fold also hides two bonus spreads inside the white pages at the beginning and the end of the book.
